Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the questions we hear most often. If yours is not here, contact our support team.

Trial and billing

Do I need a credit card to try OneCal?

No. Every new account starts with a 14 day free trial, and you can use OneCal normally during this period without entering any payment details. See Plans and Free Trial.

What happens when my free trial expires?

Your calendar syncs are paused, the clone events OneCal created are removed from your calendars, and your booking links are disabled. As soon as you purchase a plan, everything is restored automatically.

How do I cancel my free trial?

You don't need to do anything. The free trial expires automatically on its expiration date, and you are not charged, since no credit card is required to start it. If you also want your data removed, you can delete your account from the Settings page.

How do I change my billing email?

Contact our support team and we will request the change with our payments provider on your behalf. You will then receive a follow-up email from them with the details.

Can I change my plan later?

Yes. You can upgrade or downgrade at any time from Settings → Plan & Billing, and the unused portion of your current billing cycle is applied as credit. See Upgrade or Downgrade Your Plan.

How do I cancel my subscription?

From Settings → Plan & Billing, click Cancel Subscription. You keep access until the end of the period you already paid for. See Cancel Your Subscription.

Can I get an invoice with my company details and VAT number?

Yes. You can add your business address and VAT number to your receipts. See Invoices and VAT.

Calendars and sync

What is a clone event?

A clone event is an event that OneCal creates to mirror an original event in a different calendar. Its purpose is to block your time in calendar A for meetings that live in calendar B, so people cannot book you over an existing commitment. If you no longer want the clones of a sync, delete the sync and its clones are removed with it.

Which calendars does OneCal support?

Google Calendar, Microsoft Outlook and iCloud Calendar. You can mix providers freely, for example sync a Google calendar with an Outlook one.

How many calendars can I connect?

It depends on your plan: up to 2 calendars per user on Starter, 5 on Essential, and 50 on Premium. See Plans and Free Trial.

How often do syncs run?

Syncs are automatic. Google and Outlook calendars sync in real-time: as soon as a change happens, OneCal updates the target calendars. Changes on iCloud calendars are detected about every 10 minutes, since Apple does not provide a real-time API.

Does OneCal sync past events?

No. OneCal is intended for keeping your current and future availability in sync, not for syncing historical events. Recurring events that extend into the future also sync in the past, but individual events that only exist in the past are not synced. See What Does OneCal Sync?.

How far into the future does OneCal sync?

Up to 1 year ahead for Google and iCloud calendars, and up to 3 months ahead for Outlook calendars. The window moves forward automatically as time progresses. See What Does OneCal Sync?.

If I edit a clone event, does the original event change?

No. Changes to clone events are never synced back to the originals. OneCal never modifies your original events, so clones can always be removed and re-created safely. See What Does OneCal Sync?.

Does OneCal store my calendar data?

No. OneCal is approved by Google and Microsoft and uses their official APIs. We act as a proxy and don't store or analyze your calendar events.

Can my coworkers see the details of my synced personal events?

Only if you want them to. Sync configuration lets you hide event titles and details, so clones show up as busy blocks without exposing any information. See Sync Event Titles.

Which calendar sends the calendar invites to schedulers?

The calendar you select under Add events to calendar on the booking link. That calendar receives the booked events and sends the calendar invitations to schedulers. See Add Events to Calendar.

Can schedulers reschedule or cancel a booking themselves?

Yes. The confirmation page and email contain Reschedule and Cancel links, and schedulers don't need a OneCal account to use them. See For Schedulers: Reschedule or Cancel a Booking.

Usually because of availability rules or an expired calendar connection. See Schedulers Can't Book Time With You for a checklist.

Why did someone book over an existing event?

Usually because the booking link does not read availability from that calendar, or the conflicting event is marked as Free. See Someone Booked Me When I Was Already Busy.

Why is a clone still on my calendar after I deleted the original?

The sync may be paused, or the deletion was not detected. Re-running the sync removes stale clones. See I Deleted an Event but Its Clone Is Still There.

What does the "Item Not Found" sync error mean?

One of the sync's calendars no longer exists at the calendar provider. See Error Messages Explained for the fix.
