My Events Are Not Syncing
If an event is missing from a target calendar, walk through this checklist. In most cases, one of these explains it.
Check the sync status
Open the Calendar Sync dashboard and look at the Status column of the sync:
- Error: The last run failed. Open the three dots menu and click Re-run Sync. If the sync keeps failing, contact our support team.
- Paused: The sync is not processing changes. Un-pause it from the three dots menu, and OneCal automatically re-runs the sync to catch up. See Manage Your Syncs.
- In Queue or In Progress: The sync is still running, give it a moment to finish.
- Success, but the change is missing: If the Last Detected Change is much older than your edit, the change may not have been detected. This happens occasionally, more often when someone else made the change. Click Re-run Sync to catch up.
Check for an expired calendar connection
If one of the calendars in the sync shows an Expired tag on the dashboard, OneCal can no longer access it, and syncing stops until you refresh the connection. See Fix an Expired Calendar Connection.
Check your subscription
When the free trial or the subscription expires, all syncs are paused and the clone events are removed from your calendars. Purchasing a plan restores them automatically. See Plans and Free Trial.
Check the sync configuration filters
The sync configuration can intentionally exclude events. Open the sync's View Details and check whether one of these applies to the missing event:
- Exclude events by color: Events with the excluded color are not synced.
- Copy events with RSVP: Only events where your response matches the selected RSVP statuses are synced. By default, declined events are not synced, and events with no other participants count as accepted.
- Sync Free Events: Events marked as Free are only synced when this setting is enabled.
Check the sync time window
OneCal syncs events up to 1 year ahead for Google and iCloud calendars, and up to 3 months ahead for Outlook calendars. Events beyond these ranges sync automatically once they come within range. Past events are not synced at all, except for recurring events that extend into the future. See What Does OneCal Sync?.
Still stuck?
Re-run the sync once more, and if the event is still missing, contact our support team with the sync name and an example event, and we will take a look.
Good To Know
Clone events are hidden from the OneCal Unified Calendar View by default, so an event can be synced correctly and still not show up twice there. Check the target calendar in Google, Outlook or Apple Calendar directly. See Hide Clone Events.
