My Clone Events Only Say Busy
If your clone events show up as plain busy blocks without the original title, description, location or meeting link, nothing is broken. OneCal is private by default: a new calendar sync only blocks the time, and every detail is opt-in.
To include more details, edit the calendar sync and enable the settings you want:
- Sync Event Titles: Show the original event titles on the clone events instead of a generic label.
- Sync Event Description: Copy the description of the original event.
- Sync Event Location: Copy the physical location.
- Sync Conference Data: Copy the meeting links, so you can join from either calendar.
- Sync Event Participants: Include the participants. They are added to the clone event's description, not as real attendees, so they don't receive a second invitation.
After you save the changes, the calendar sync re-runs and updates the existing clone events.
Colleagues can't see my clone events at all
Clone events are marked as private by default, so other people in your organization only see that you are busy. If you want the clone event details visible to others, disable that setting in the calendar sync configuration.
Good To Know
These defaults are intentional. Many people sync personal calendars into work calendars, and the safest default is to expose nothing but the busy time. Enable only the details you are comfortable sharing.
