Events Don't Sync With the Color I Chose

If your clone events don't show the color you selected, walk through these checks.

Check the sync configuration

Open the calendar sync's View Details and confirm that a clone event color is actually selected. If it is not, edit the calendar sync and choose one. See Clone Events Colors. After changing the configuration, the calendar sync re-runs and updates the existing clone events.

Outlook needs the default color categories

Outlook displays event colors through categories. For Outlook to display the OneCal event colors correctly, the following categories must exist in your Outlook account, with these exact names:

  • Blue category
  • Gray category
  • Green category
  • Orange category
  • Purple category
  • Red category
  • Yellow category

The names are case-sensitive and must match exactly. Other categories are not supported.

To find your Outlook categories, log in on Outlook web, click the cog icon next to your profile picture, then open Categories. Depending on your Outlook version, it appears under Account or General.

iCloud calendars don't support clone colors

Clone event colors are not available on iCloud calendars, because iCloud handles event colors differently than Google and Outlook. This also applies to excluding events by color.

Still stuck?

If the target calendar of the calendar sync is a Google calendar and the clone event colors are still wrong, try clicking Re-run Sync in the calendar sync's three dots menu. If the problem persists, contact our support team with the calendar sync name and an example event.
